What is PTE? : PTE, or Pearson Test for English, is an English proficiency exam administered by the British Council.
Purpose: It’s essential for those planning to study abroad or seeking employment in international companies.
Test Structure: Divided into two sections: Listening and Reading Comprehension.
Flexibility: Candidates can choose to take either section individually or both together.
Listening Comprehension: Involves short conversations between native speakers, followed by questions assessing comprehension.
Reading Comprehension: Requires answering questions based on passages from various sources, including newspapers and web pages. Unlike the listening section, visual aids like pictures or diagrams are provided to aid in comprehension.

Four sections of an IELTS test:
Time: 30 minutes (plus 10 minutes’ transfer time)
This section assesses the ability to read and comprehend written English texts. The section comprises three long passages with increasing difficulty, and test takers have to answer 40 questions in total.
Time: 60 minutes
This section assesses writing skills in English through two tasks: Task 1 requires test takers to describe a graph, table, chart, or diagram in their own words, while Task 2 requires them to write an essay in response to an argument or problem.
Time: 60 minutes
This section assesses fluency and coherence in spoken English through a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner. It consists of three parts: Part 1 includes general questions about the test taker, Part 2 requires them to speak on a given topic, and Part 3 involves a discussion with the examiner on the topic from Part 2.
Time: 11–14 minutes
